SPECIFICATIONS FOR 15,000 MT AMMONIA STORAGE & HANDLING SYSTEM. I. SCOPE OF WORK: Design Engineering,Procurement,Supply, Fabrication, Erection,Testing(NDT and Hydraulic)and Commissioning of two Nos 15,000 MT Ammonia Storage and Handling System at Sharjah, UAE for Oman Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals LLC AL Buraimi, Oman. All interconnecting piping, flare system, electricals, instrumentation, micro Processor based control system for the whole facility, loading arms and Including first fill of lubricants are included in the scope.
2. DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM: Ammonia produced in the 1300 STPD (1180 MTPD) Ammonia plant at –330.C is to be stored in the 15,000 MT atmospheric ammonia storage tank and transferred to the ship. 1 . Ammonia is supplied at the battery limit of the storage system. Pressure : 2-6 Kg/sq cm.g Temperature: -32 Deg.C Flow rate : 56 MTPH (normal) 62 MTPH (max) 2 . Storage conditions: Storage temperature: -33 Deg.C Storage pressure : 1.05 Kg/cm2.abs 3 . Storage tank: TWO NOS REQUIRED ( with independent Refrigeration units and common despatch Pumps) MADE OF LOWTEMPERATURE STEEL (A537 CLASS 1) Type: Double wall, double integrity with Suspended deck Designed to API 620 Appendix R. Capacity: 15,000 MT (each) Tank shell insulation: Polyurethane Foam Cast-in- situ with Aluminum (External) cladding Tank bottom insulation: Foam Glass Suspended Deck insulation Mineral Wool
4. Rate of maximum re liquefaction 1500 Nm3/Hr Rate of re liquefaction during pressure holding: 1200 Nm3/hr
5. Rate of liquid ammonia transfer from Storage Tank to ship Each pump (vertical barrel type with double mechanical seal) shall be rated for 125m tons/hr
Pumps (2+1) COMMON FOR BOTH TANKS and liquid and vapour lines to be provided for ammonia transfer to ship. Estimated length of transfer line From storage to ship will be 2150 meters
6.0 Refrigeration System (Independent for each tank)
No. of Refrigeration Compressors: Three working + one standby
Complete refrigeration system with flash vessel, intercoolers, condensers, receiver etc. is included in the scope. One compressor shall have facility to be driven by emergency power source.
